Perhaps the most dramatic natural stone to put into a kitchen or bathroom is marble. With the inherent swirling of the material, the surface may seem to tell a story that lasts for millions of years. Marble exists at about the same thickness and cost as regular granite, but is sensitive to acidic material and must be treated regularly to avoid stains setting in. Seams are nearly invisible in marble and the lifespan is great, but to ensure this, the material should be installed by an experienced countertop installer.
